Great building, Great staff, Great location
Parkview has been my home since 2005! It's a wonderful location in Lincoln Park, with great facilities, top-notch staff who ... truly care about the building and community, and is amazingly quiet, given how much is always going on around the neighborhood. The history of the building gives it a real vibe, and I've truly loved living here. Also, it's just a stone's throw from downtown, and being right next to the park, it really conveys that sense of walkable urban enjoyment. Quintessential Chicago brownstone living. I realized that I just started to living in this apartment complex 1936 North Clark Street for about a year. So I believe ... it isn't that bad it is pretty decent to me. Just wish certain places would be closer to the building because I do a lot of walking. Other than that it is clean, and I can sleep well here too so that is not an issue which is also important as a current resident, just the walking. Four years ago I moved to Chicago on a whim. Knowing little of the city, and unable to visit before picking an apartment, ... I took a chance on Park View after finding a sublet on Craigslist. Crystal and the staff made a positive impression from the start. Anyone who has lived in a rental property knows the difference that dependable management can make. They keep the property clean, safe and updated, and do their best to perform repairs as quickly as possible. None of this to mention the amazing location next to Lincoln Park, the beach, bike trails, bus routes in all directions, supermarkets & shopping. Without a doubt, Park View is one of the best places to live in Lincoln Park. While the building is much older than its surrounding ... counterparts, it is replete with charm, character and a staff that's willing to go out of their way for its residents. When I moved from Arizona to Chicago, they were the only building that went out of their way to work with me and make me feel comfortable during the move across country. I moved in Parkview apartments on Oct 5th and have been living here for around 3 weeks or so. The parking nearby is pretty ... sufficient and amenities are nice. Maintenance responds pretty quick and the staff are very friendly. John even helps me print things out since I don't have a printer at home. The main deciding factors for why I picked this place: 1. Located very near the park and lake, great for runs and a good view. Also near restaurants about 10-20 minute walk. 2. Flexible leasing contract. Monthly Price for 6 month vs 12 month is the same. You can also extend your lease 1-2 month longer (if available) and can choose to upgrade to a bigger unit without having to pay the application fee again. 3. Price: It's a really good price. Mine was less than $1200 for a studio 4. Being able to buzz people into your apartment (including food and grocery delivery) using your smartphone. Meaning you can stay in and never leave if you wanted. 5. Mail receiving center means you can receive stuff during work hours. 6. There's a convenience store attached to the building. No more worries over running out of condiments when cooking/baking. Or if you're just too lazy and need a frozen pre-made meal (prices are reasonable too). 7. Good and friendly neighbors. Downside: Heating for the shower can spike up and down occasionally but given it's a vintage style building, it's not unexpected. Overall very positive experience here so far.
